Academic STEM Consultant

The role:

This role will report into the Program Director – Business and STEM, and will be responsible for identifying best practice pedagogical approaches for implementation across a range of our courses including ICT, programming and analytics. Working closely with our Learning Design, Facilitation/Remote, Classroom Experience and IT teams, the Academic STEM Consultant will be required to research and recommend on ‘best of breed’ STEM resources to support student learning and support the development and maintenance of these resources.

While this is a consultative role, we are also looking for someone who is willing and capable of rolling their sleeves up and getting involved in the day to day in terms of reviewing and advising on the technical aspects of course content to ensure a strong student centric approach. Therefore, it is imperative that the person we appoint into this role has broad and extensive technology knowledge and experience, as well as an understanding of its uses in a higher education setting.

The specific skills we are looking for include:

  • An appropriate post graduate tertiary qualification (PhD or Masters) in ICT or Analytics
  • Experience in curriculum development of IT programs and units in a tertiary education setting
  • Ability to review course materials and instructions to ensure seamless student experience
  • Ability to manage competing priorities while working across different partners/stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with the desire to roll your sleeves up and get the job done
  • A strong interest in emerging technologies and platforms
  • The ability to influence
