Application Development Lead

The role:

The Application Development Lead is responsible for supporting the evolution of the technology solution and processes that support the entire development and delivery of Online Education Services (OES) products and services.

This role will work closely with key managers and internal stakeholders to drive the successful implementation of systems and technologies to meet the immediate and ongoing needs of the business.

The Application Development Lead will support the  Application Development Manager in providing thought leadership, and options and solutions formulation for the unit development and broader technology space.

Essential skills & experience:

Leadership, Management and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Experience leading and motivating a team of developers
  • Experience with mentoring/managing technical and non-technical staff

Technical skills and experience

  • Advanced HTML5, CSS3, and native JavaScript knowledge
  • Advanced with jQuery, jQueryUI, and comfortable with writing custom plugins for these libraries
  • Advanced NodeJS knowledge
  • Advanced with one or more JavaScript framework libraries such as ReactJS, AngularJS, and the coding patterns they use (MVC, MVVM, etc.)
  • Advanced knowledge working with Continuous Integration tools such as Jenkins
  • Experience with AWS or other similar cloud solution architecture, in particular the setup and maintenance of web servers, databases, CDN’s, and cloud file storage solutions (e.g. AWS EC2, RDS, Cloudfront, Route53, etc.)
  • Experience in administrative and technical roles, especially in the design and implementation of web based services
  • Demonstrated experience with Learning Management systems such as Canvas preferred
