Infrastructure Engineer

The role: 

The Infrastructure Engineer role will be to work closely with the Manager, IT Operations & Support to implement various projects within the Infrastructure space, develop detailed designs and implementation plans as well as providing BAU level 3 support for the Infrastructure platforms while liaising with third party providers. The role will also act as an initial escalation point for the Desktop Support team and will assist them as required with escalated incidents.

Key responsibilities:

  • Supporting both local and cloud based infrastructure
  • Implementation of agreed projects / enhancements to the existing infrastructure
  • Developing technical artefacts, including Current State Assessments, Detailed Designs and Implementation Plans
  • Ensuring existing and future platforms adhere to company security standards
  • Assure technical implementation deliverables meet best industry standards
  • Ensuring solutions passed to the BAU teams are engineered to enable BAU support with robust handover processes

About you:

The Infrastructure Engineer will need to have a significant depth of knowledge and practical experience in designing, implementing and supporting the following technologies in an enterprise IT environments:

  • Virtual Infrastructure Platforms – Hyper-V / ESXi
  • Microsoft Exchange Online, Office365 platforms
  • Azure/AWS
  • Windows Server OS
  • Switching and Firewalls
  • SD-WANs

Furthermore the Infrastructure Engineer will need to possess:

  • Current Industry Certifications (MCSA, CCNA etc) Highly regarded
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills
  • Advanced knowledge of networking technologies
  • Knowledge of ITIL would be highly desirable
