Program Director of Nursing & Health

The role

The Program Director of Health will report to the Executive Academic Director and will be responsible for ensuring Health programs delivered by Western Sydney University and Queensland University of Technology Online are of the highest quality, meet accreditation requirements and are based on best practice in online learning.

To be considered, the right person will have had previous academic management experience within the Higher Education Health sector. This role is based in our Melbourne office (St Kilda Road location) and will require occasional interstate travel.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary purpose of this crucial position is to champion excellence in the online delivery of Health portfolio with our partners by ensuring that all programs meet evidence based pedagogy principles to promote best practice in online design and delivery.

Day to day the Program Director of Health will foster a collaborative partnership with partner academics and Online Education Services to oversee, review and successfully deliver outstanding Health programs.

As a leader, they will oversee and inspire a team of Online Learning Advisors and Unit Coordinators to provide student centric learning as well as motivate them to thrive in a flexible, high performance and engaged work environment.

The must have’s:

  • A passion for the student experience
  • Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills
  • Demonstrated ability to ‘get things done’ and to lead and inspire others
  • Teaching experience within a tertiary environment using a range of methods and tools including online
  • Current registration as a nurse with AHPRA
  • Masters/ PhD qualification in Nursing/Health
  • Previous experience with ANMAC accreditation and an in depth knowledge of accreditation
  • Demonstrated senior academic experience within the Higher Education Health sector
  • Experience in tertiary course preparation, preferably within an online environment
